Asprinio vitigno antico figlio delle terre dell’Agro Aversano, apprezzato dai reali di epoche lontane è arrivato a noi grazie a chi nei secoli ha creduto nelle sue potenzialità.
Allevato ad “Alberata Aversana” si presenta in uno spettacolo unico, la coltura cosiddetta a festoni è tra le più significative nella storia agraria e paesaggistica, i filari si innalzano oltre quindici metri d’altezza formando lunghi corridoi di viti secolari maritate ai pioppi in un abbraccio inscindibile di tralci, foglie e grappoli succosi.
E’ uno scenario inebriante, viti secolari a piede franco vanno verso il cielo e l’uomo le segue dalla potatura alla vendemmia in veri e propri equilibrismi su altissime scale di legno. L’Asprinio è un vino dalla spiccata freschezza, semplice nei sentori agrumati, elegante, si esprime meravigliosamente anche in bollicine. Attualmente una tra le poche aziende che ha dato all’Asprinio il giusto valore espresso in termini di qualità, riuscendo a tramandarlo negli anni è “I Borboni” della famiglia Numeroso, cinque generazioni dedite alle storiche uve della Real Casa di Borbone.
Nasce nel 1998 in provincia di Caserta, a Lusciano in pieno centro storico, sulle spoglie della casa di famiglia, dove a13 metri di profondità hanno recuperato le antiche cantine nelle grotte di tufo. Dopo la passeggiata in vigna, la visita nella bottaia nel cuore della terra si delinea un impegnativo percorso di lavoro e passione, ogni elemento si lega agli affetti e da lì prende forza lasciandosi percepire nel calice di Asprinio.
Il sorso racconta del suo essere e sembra dire: “ Un tempo sono stato una premuta d’uva gradevole d’estate quando l’arsura si faceva sentire, tanti popoli mi hanno conosciuto e della loro attenzione porto l’impronta.
Sono il frutto di quella caparbietà propria della famiglia Numeroso, che da generazioni ha sempre creduto in me, ha rispettato il mio carattere e il patrimonio storico-culturale che rappresento.

Asprinio, an ancient grape variety from the Agro Aversano lands, prized by royalty from ancient times, has been handed down to us thanks to those who believed in its potential over the centuries. Trained in the “Alberata Aversana” system, it presents a unique spectacle. The so-called festoon training system is among the most significant in the history of agriculture and landscape design. The rows rise over fifteen meters high, forming long corridors of centuries-old vines intertwined with poplars in an inseparable embrace of shoots, leaves, and juicy bunches.
It’s an intoxicating scene: centuries-old, ungrafted vines reach for the sky, and the man follows them from pruning to harvest, performing veritable balancing acts on towering wooden ladders. Asprinio is a wine with a distinct freshness, simple in its citrus aromas, elegant, and also expresses itself wonderfully in sparkling wines. Currently, one of the few wineries that has given Asprinio its true value, expressed in terms of quality, and has succeeded in handing it down over the years, is “I Borboni,” owned by the Numeroso family. Five generations have devoted themselves to the historic grapes of the Royal House of Bourbon.
It was founded in 1998 in the province of Caserta, in Lusciano, right in the historic center, on the ruins of the family home, where they restored the ancient cellars in the tuff caves 13 meters underground. After a stroll through the vineyard, a visit to the cellar in the heart of the earth unfolds as a demanding journey of work and passion. Each element is linked to our loved ones and from there draws strength, perceptible in a glass of Asprinio.
The sip speaks volumes about its essence and seems to say: “I was once a pleasant grape juice in the summer when the heat was palpable. Many people have known me, and I bear the imprint of their attention. I am the fruit of the stubbornness of the Numeroso family, who for generations have always believed in me, respected my character, and the historical and cultural heritage I represent.
Today, I am the grit of a family that transforms the vicissitudes of life into constructive energy.”
